3 Things to Do in San Francisco this Weekend: September 25–27

San Francisco Weekend Guide, September 2015

It’s official: fall is here! And on this first weekend of fall, Munich, New York and a super blood moon eclipse are all coming to San Francisco. Strap on your lederhosen, because it’s going to be a busy weekend here in the Bay Area! Plan your weekend accordingly with these three amazing events.

FRIDAY – September 27th

Oktoberfest by the Bay — Pier 48, San Francisco, 5PM-Midnight.

Munich comes to San Francisco this weekend, with the all-weekend-long Oktoberfest by the Bay! Traditionally, Oktoberfest starts in the third weekend in September and concludes on the first Sunday of October. San Francisco’s Oktoberfest has ranked as one of the U.S.’s top 10 Oktoberfest celebrations! Oktoberfest at Pier 48 includes the best in German food and drink (Bavarian brezels and Hefeweizen, bitte!), nonstop music, singing and dancing. So, bust out your lederhosen and dirndls because Oktoberfest by the Bay begins tonight (Friday) at 5PM! Purchase tickets here.

SATURDAY – September 26th

Treasure Island Flea — Avenue of the Palms, Treasure Island, 10AM-4PM.

The Treasure Island Flea takes place on the last weekend of each month. This family and pet-friendly flea market has a $3 admission fee, and once you’re in you’ll find great food, music, art and vendors. Treasure Island Flea launched on Memorial Day Weekend 2011, and has enjoyed continued success since with overflow locations in The Mission and Jack London Square in Oakland. Nicknamed “Festival of the Bay”, this weekend’s market should have over 400 vendors, 25+ top-rated food trucks and booths, bars, DIY, workshops, artwork and more! One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and this weekend X marks the spot in Treasure Island!

SUNDAY – September 27th

Shegetz Bagel: NYC-Style Pop-up — PizzaHacker, 3299 Mission Street, San Francisco, 10AM-Sold Out.

Shegetz Bagel is prepared to end California’s bagel drought this weekend. This bagel pop-up was founded by a trio of San Francisco natives: Oliver Steele, Ben Kaminsky and Alex Rogers, all three locally recognized in the Bay Area’s food and coffee scene. Steele and Rogers’ experience in dough, pastry, and bread making from Pizzetta 211 and Local’s Corner, combined with three-time U.S. Cup Tasters Champion Kaminsky’s coffee expertise has set the scene for this highly anticipated pop-up event. You’ll want to get there early—last year another NYC bagel pop-up drew insane two-hour lines in rain—and Shegetz Bagel will likely sell out fast. Check out @shegetzbagel for updates.
