What is your favorite spot to shoot in San Francisco, and why?
Yerba Buena Island is my favorite San Francisco spot to shoot because I love the view of the skyline, right above the tunnel.

When and why did you take up photography?
I took up photography in late 2013 because I took a “Night Photography” class during my internship at DreamWorks. This class really helped spark my photography interest.

What do you love about photography?
I love how it encourages me to travel to different places and countries to try and capture the mood.

How do you decide what to shoot?
Most of the time it’s just from randomly walking around and seeing something that catches my eye.

My favorite part would have to be finding a new spot and getting the perfect sunset.

Which location did you have the most difficulty getting to, and how did you do it?
There really hasn’t been any difficult location for me.

What is your dream shot? (Where, what time of day, what’s in it / the subject?)
It’ll have to be at Hawk Hill during sunrise. I would love to capture the Golden Gate Bridge with low fog and a bright, electric, vibrant sunrise.

What is your favorite app to use for photo editing on the go, and what are your top 3 favorite filters?
I tend to the Lightroom app. I like Creamtone, Old Polor, and Color Process 1.

How does Instagram and the #SFGuide community inspire you?
It inspires me because I can see how San Francisco looks from the eyes of all these other fantastic photographers that call SF their home.

What are your favorite San Francisco-based Instagram accounts to follow?
@onlyinsf, @nowrongwaysf, & @49milessf of course!

What type of camera do you use? And what is your dream camera?
I use a Canon 5D Mark III. My dream camera would be a Leica.

What are your favorite settings in your idea shot?
Lens: 16-35mm
Aperture: 8
Shutter Speed: Auto
ISO: 50
White Balance: Auto
Focus (Manual / Auto): Auto
Image Format (RAW / JPEG): RAW

What advice would you give to new or rising photographers that you wish you had received when you first started?
Go out and keep shooting. Develop your editing skills and don’t be afraid to create anything!

What do you love about living in the San Francisco Bay Area?
I love the bridges 🙂
