NEW MUST-VISIT FOOD DESTINATION → Just a few weeks ago we shared a guide on how to enjoy San Francisco’s Chinatown like a local. The neighborhood is continuously revamping itself to appeal to locals, and is even home to Michelin star restaurant, Mr. Jiu’s, and several others on the Michelin Guide’s map. This week, a new $20 million, 30,000-square-foot culinary destination and emporium called China Live opened its doors in Chinatown. Inside China Live is a marketplace with over 1,500 specialty food and cookware items from China and Asia, a 36-seat tea parlor, a 150-seat casual restaurant with a rotating menu, a fine-dining restaurant called Eight Tables serving a seasonal 12-course tasting menu for $200 per person, a speakeasy called Gold Mountain Lounge, a 200-person event space, and a rooftop bar set to open by 2018.
