Weekend Guide October 14-16

Grab your rain coats and prep your umbrellas San Franciscans, because this weekend is going to be a wet one! This will be the Bay Area’s first taste of rainfall since March, and the first major storm of the season, making it the perfect time for you to catch up on all your favorite shows on Netflix and those precious hours of sleep! This week’s #SFGuide is full of indoor activities and savory treats, so get cozy and stay dry, but most of all have a great weekend!

COFFEE → Stay warm this Friday at SIGHTGLASS Coffee’s Public Cupping event! Located in San Francisco’s SoMa neighborhood, join in at their 7th Street training lab where you’ll find good conversations, delicious coffees, and warming ambiance, all the while getting a chance to learn how to become a coffee connoisseur. This event is free with limited spaces, so an RSVP is kindly requested.

AYCE! → All-you-can-eat mouth watering pizza made by over 15 chefs for $20?! Yes please! This Saturday marks the 3rd Annual Pizzafest in Berkeley and every year chefs from all around to find out who amongst them is the Pizzafest People’s Choice favorite. Each cook team will be able to showcase their greatest creations with you as their judges! There will also be $5 beers from breweries Fieldwork, Lagunitas, and Gilman Brewing Companies available all day, so if you love pizza, and you love beer, make sure you head on out to the 2016 Pizzafest!

BACON!→ Every year over 12,000 bacon lovers from all corners of the earth make the trip to San Jose to fulfill their savory cravings in the form of BACON! With over 20 Food Trucks serving up bacon inspired dishes, local craft beer and tastings, various vendors, live entertainment and so much more, this weekend Moveable Feast will be hosting 4th Annual Bacon Festival of America at Plaza de Cesar Chavez in downtown San Jose! So if you’re a fan of bacon, or just want to have fun and escape the rain head on over and check out the Bacon Festival of America!

ART→ Taking place this Sunday is the 41st Anniversary of SF Open Studios presented by ArtSpan! SF Open Studios is the oldest and largest event of its kind in the country, featuring 800 artists and enabling artists and collectors of all forms emerging and established to congregate in one space. From painting, photography, metal sculpture and printmaking to glass, plus many more, it’s at the SF Open Studios where you’ll get the chance to broaden your perspective on art and catch a glimpse of the different processes taken on by various artists. SF Open Studios is a moving event and will take place every weekend in various venues throughout the city between this Sunday October 15 to November 6 and all events are open and free for public viewing. This week’s events will be taking place at Hunters Point Shipyard & Islais Creek Studios, so feel free to visit!
