SF Weekend Guide: August 26–28 [Updated]
UPDATE, 3:09PM: The fog has returned, at least to The Sunset.
It’s been a long, cold winter summer/Fogust in San Francisco, but PSA: THE SUN IS OUT! Being Friday afternoon, we encourage you to leave your desk right now and join fellow sun worshippers at Dolores Park. Even if it’s just for a few fleeting moments.
TGIF, indeed.
In case you’re on of the seemingly few San Franciscans not making the annual pilgrimage to Black Rock City for Burning Man, here’s the #SFGuide Weekend Guide:
Friday, August 26th:
SF’S BIGGEST FOOD FESTIVAL → The eighth annual Eat Drink SF festival kicks off tonight at the Fort Mason Center. Throughout the weekend, more than 160 restaurants participate and guests will enjoy bites as well as unlimited pours of beverages from more than 70 bars, distilleries, breweries, and wineries. This year, Eat Drink SF has addded a special Grand Tasting on Sunday to celebrate the Golden Gate Restaurant Association’s 80th anniversary and honor legacy restaurants in the Bay Area.

OYSTERS + SILENT AUCTION → OysterFest is something we look forward to all year long. Both Waterbar and EPIC Steak’s patios are taken over by local restaurants and wine vendors from all over the Bay Area and Napa Valley — not to mention the oyster shucking contest, the Grand Shellfish Platter contest, the Hot Sauce competition, the music, and an overall great time. What started as a great get together to benefit the local chapter of the Surfrider Foundation has turned into the best and final party of the summer season in San Francisco. Last year the weather was perfect, the band was jamming, and the oysters were perfection. Tickets for Waterbar’s sold out eighth annual OysterFest can be found on Craigslist.
Waterbar // 399 The Embarcadero, San Francisco, CA 94105 // 12:00–3:00PM // Tickets: $75
