Formerly known as the Western Furniture Exchange and Merchandise Mart, The Market is an 11,000 square foot combination of bustling food and beverage vendors that are ever-changing and locally sourced. Built in 1937, this Art Deco icon is now Twitter’s headquarters and houses The Market, Blue Bottle Coffee, Dirty Water, Bon Marché, and Fitness SF.
The Market is a perfect location to spend an early morning—after a workout session at Fitness SF, or on your way to the office—, grab lunch, or meet up with friends for happy hour. Its café is open one hour prior to the retail portion, at 7:00am, and both close at 10:00pm. Each vendor inside The Market features California-inspired cuisine, accented with seasonal ingredients, and of course, the option of pairing with wine, beer, or cocktails.
Warm up with a cup of joe, do some last minute grocery shopping, or simply grab a prepared meal to stave off hunger—The Market is always there for whatever you need.
Some favorites while passing through were: Sushi & Oyster Bar, Project Juice and Blue Bottle Coffee.

Across the spacious, open foyer (check out the art installation made of old mailboxes and reclaimed wood) are Dirty Water and Bon Marché.
Dirty Water is a new restaurant, brewery, and lounge. It’s the best place to decompress after a tiresome work week. Their happy hour is a steal, too! Choose from the surplus of beers on tap, or create a concoction using ingredients from the full bar. Dirty Water features a delicious specialty cocktail called “140 Characters” (get it?) which includes Zu Vodka, Ancho Reyes, Lime and Egg Whites.
Bon Marché just opened today, featuring French fare and an extensive wine list. We’re excited to check out this French bistro’s offerings and will provide an update as soon as we make it back to The Market.
