San Francisco’s Best Taco Tuesday Spots

(Yes, those are taco emojis.)

Everybody’s working for the weekend #TacoTuesday! Seriously though, Taco Tuesday is our favorite day of the [early] week. (Because who likes Mondays? and Wednesday is technically mid-week. We’re left with no other choice.)

Luckily, most of San Francisco shares our love for tacos and $2 Tecate on Tuesdays. Below is a list of some of our favorite Taco Tuesday spots, ranging from the obvious (Nick’s Crispy Tacos) to joints that cook up the deliciousness that are tacos just once a week (we’re looking at you, Bacon Bacon):

Tacolicious (via Yelp user Abby A.)  –  “Korean BBQ Short Rib, Fried Local Rock Cod, Shot-and-a-Beer Braised Chicken, Bistec Adobado & Braised Beef Short Rib Tacos”

Tacolicious

There is only one way to describe Tacolicious: AH-MAH-ZING. Really. Just ask President Obama. (That smile tho.) Tacolicious serves up tasty and unique tacos, like Korean BBQ Short Rib, and Shot-And-A-Beer Braised Chicken, so be sure to order a taco flight with a nice mix of classic and unique (or “safe” and “weird”) tacos. We mean weird in the best way possible. Tacolicious is pretty difficult to get into in general, let alone on Taco Tuesday. Be sure to pack a small snack, because you’ll probably wind up in a San Francisco-style line.

Tacolicious (Marina)  •  2031 Chestnut Street

The Taco Shop @ Underdog’s

The Taco Shop @ Underdog’s is a great spot in The Sunset for Taco Tuesdays. $2 street tacos and $2 Tecate make The Taco Shop an obvious choice for Sunset residents and SFSU students. Be sure to order at least one taco “Nick’s Way.” Yes, Nick. As in THE Nick. The Taco Shop dishes out crispy tacos in the style of Nick’s Crispy Tacos.

Nick’s Crispy Tacos

Home to the Nick’s Way crispy taco, Nick’s Crispy Tacos is a San Francisco institution. There’s no place that is more packed on a Tuesday night than Nick’s Crispy Tacos, which turns into a club called Rouge at night. Yes, you heard right. A club… with tacos. Truly a dream come true. Just please don’t slip on guacamole on the dance floor. Nick’s gets pretty crowded on Tuesday nights, but the crispy $2 tacos are worth the wait.

Bacon Bacon's The Triple B Taco (via Bacon Bacon)
Bacon Bacon’s The Triple B Taco (via Bacon Bacon)

Bacon Bacon

Bacon Bacon… the little truck and kitchen that could. (Seriously, their truck blew up and their brick-and-mortar was shut down by cranky, bacon-hating neighbors, but re-opened their kitchen after a successful petition, and got a new truck!) All things bacon… including BACON TACOS! Yes, on Tuesdays Bacon Bacon whips up the Triple B Taco. It’s artery-clogging and delicious, but you can only get it once a week so that’s okay. Stop by the Bacon Bacon Café , or check their website for the truck’s schedule.

Celia’s By The Beach (via Yelp user El-Khalid M.) – “$3 tacos, $5 Margarita, free amazing service!”

Celia’s By The Beach

Celia’s By The Beach is deceptively quiet looking, but this traditional Mexican restaurant shakes up the sleepy Outer Sunset on Taco Tuesdays. With 3 for $3 soft tacos, 2 for $5 hard tacos, and $5 Mexican Handlebars and margaritas, Celia’s is the place to be!

Celia’s By The Beach  •  4019 Judah Street  •  Outer Sunset
